About the exhibition

The Bressanone Water Light Festival is a guest at the Franzensfeste Fortress for the second time.

In cooperation with Museion, works will be shown that deal with the themes of light and water in different ways. In the fortress, they are placed in a new context, take a stand individually and together create a deeper engagement with the theme.

In her installation “Once upon a time”, Elisa Grezzani reduces light to its most elementary manifestation; in the video work “Wilhalm (Curon)”, the late artist Sven Sachsalber rows around in a wooden coffin in Lake Resia for 24 hours, turning stamina into a measure of time; and the light projection Carré de Lumière projetée by Michael Verjux enters into dialogue with the architecture of the fortress. The Italian sound artist Luca Formentini interprets two art installations and adds an acoustic dimension to the exhibition. Four sound tracks run along the installation “The Divine Burden” by Peter Fellin.  In a next casemate, sound envelops the silence of Alik Cavaliere’s sculpture.

An exhibition that engages all the senses, with the elements of water and light.
